Richard Stevens | Writer

Richard honed his craft at the London Screenwriters' Workshop and subsequently had a productive writing partnership with Michael Chappell on DOCTORS, deftly using the 'single play within a continuing drama' format of this ever popular BBC Daytime series over nearly 30 versatile episodes.

Richard enjoys working on both original projects and adaptations, especially for radio where his work includes a dramatisation of Philip Larkin’s A GIRL IN WINTER for BBC Radio 4’s Classic Serial, produced by Fiona McAlpine at Allegra Productions (2013).

Other radio credits include: LEFT AT MARRAKECH a WW2 story set on a B-17 bomber en route from Florida across the Atlantic for active service and carrying two British hitch-hikers (BBC Radio 4 Afternoon Play, Allegra Productions, 2008, repeated 2010); and THE SMALL BACK ROOM, an adaptation of Nigel Balchin's World War Two classic thriller, starring Damian Lewis (BBC Radio 4 Saturday Play, Pacificus Productions, 2008, repeated 2010).
