Although best known for his role as the sonically adventurous drummer and composer in the very successful folk big band,  BELLOWHEAD.   Pete Flood has had an eclectic career taking in work for film, theatre and dance, large scale composition commissions, remixes, production, as well as playing in ensembles ranging in genre from contemporary classical through to world music, jazz and free improvisation.   He is currently drummer with the acclaimed folk singer Emily Portman, the Coracle Band and Oysterband.   Theatre credits include THE LIFE AND TIMES OF FANNY HILL (2015) at Bristol Old Vic, starring Caroline Quentin, MEMORY POINTS (2014 & 2015) at the Southbank Centre, PINOCCHIO (2013) at the Little Angel, and Fevered Sleep’s FEAST YOUR EYES (2004), national tour.


The highly acclaimed MEMORY POINTS by Platform 4 was staged for the second time in September 2015 at the Southbank Centre with composition and additional material by Pete, and in which he also performed.  It was a poignant final production of the current Purcell Room before its redevelopment.     Pete also composed for the photographic and verbatim installation EDDY SMITH WAS HERE for the South Bank Centre celebrating the people who worked in the Purcell Room.     In 2017 he composed for a new project with Platform 4 INVISIBLE MUSIC, a sound-piece inspired by a series of interviews the company made with members of Winchester’s lip reading group.
