In January 2015 Paul was delighted to be appointed Executive and Artistic Director of the Northcott Theatre in Exeter and was featured on the BBC OnStage series which followed his first six months in the role as he started to rejuvenate the venue. He is producing theatre again at the venue and has directed Pinter's BETRAYAL starring Simon Merrells, Nick Moran and Sarah-Jane Potts as the debut in-house production and Martin O'Brien's play THIS IS MY BODY.
Paul has directed classics, contemporary classics and new plays at the Royal National Theatre, the major regional theatres, the new writing theatres and in the West End.
Paul previously directed the anti-trafficking play THIS IS MY BODY for Ten Ten Theatre for a tour of the UK and it was performed in London to mark Anti-Slavery Day and won an award for Best Stage Production on the subject. He is currently developing and directing a new play by Murray Lachlan Young GLAMPING - RUNNING STAG with Windswept Productions, following the success of THE INCOMERS by Lachlan Young iwhich toured the UK and ran at the Pleasance Theatre in London in 2013.
In 2014 Paul also worked as producer and director for the Manchester Library Theatre. His responsibilities there included the successful Arts Council bid for the season ON THE MOVE: MANCHESTER SOUND -THE MASSACRE which he developed with writer Polly Wiseman over an eighteen month period and directed in summer 2013. It was nominated for Best Ensemble in the Manchester Theatre Awards 2013.
Paul is developing some of his own plays for the theatre and some new projects as dramaturg as well as a project for Home in Manchester which will be a co-production with Exeter Northcott.
His laboratory work includes 4D a collaboration with Nick Helm the Architect and the Bartlett School at University College London.
Paul works for several leading investment banks as a communications consultant, speechwriter and coach.
